Congratulations, Phil Spector, on your tardy discovery that, yes, prison is a scary place. The legendary producer-convicted murderer complained that he wants to be in a “better prison with people more like myself in it during the appeal process instead of all these lowlife scumbags, gangsters and Manson types.” It got us wondering about other celebrities and belated lessons learned.

1. Ryan O’Neal — Always keep photos of your children in your wallet — so you don’t mistakenly hit on them.

2. O.J. Simpson — If you’re going to kill someone and then deny it, don’t write a book detailing how you would have done the deed if, let’s say — just for the sake of argument — you were the murderer.

3. Jude Law — If she says she’s on the pill — and you’re really rich and famous — don’t believe her.

4. Britney Spears — Turns out women really look better with hair.

5. Woody Allen — Don’t become romantically involved with the adopted daughter of your significant other. If you absolutely must, don’t take nude photos of her.
