The lifting of sanctions against Syria is only the tip of the iceberg in the Obama administration’s fatally flawed foreign policy agenda (“The road to Damascus,” Editorial, July 31).

Instead of supporting our friends in international affairs, we have chosen to throw them to the wolves. This has been particularly true in our policy toward Israel.

The current administration has attacked and condemned the Israeli Supreme Court (which is replete with left-wing judges) for its decision to allow Arab houses to be torn down (these are the houses of Arab squatters on Jewish-owned land). The Israeli Supreme Court has tried repeatedly to accommodate Arabs, even in the face of their attempts to destroy the protective fence separating Israeli citizens from Arab terrorists.

Our present government has shown that it will do everything to denigrate Israel. It encourages European countries to condemn Israel’s building on its own land, while it absolves the leaders of Iran, Syria and Venezuela of any guilt. The Obama administration is practicing historical revisionism of the most despicable kind.
