Someone driving along Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda or Rockville Pike in Rockville might assume that there isn’t any new residential development in busy Montgomery County.

However, the reality is that there are still some new homes available. Builders are adding upscale single-family homes and more affordable single-family homes, town homes and condominiums to the housing mix in Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring and Potomac in lower Montgomery County.


Luxury condominium homes are available now in the Adagio, a high-rise building at Wisconsin Avenue and Bradley Boulevard within walking distance of the Bethesda Metro station, Bethesda Row shops, movie theaters, live theater and plenty of restaurants and specialty stores.

The building includes garage parking and the 35,000-square-foot Washington Sports Club. The homes are priced from the $600,000s to $1,600,000. Monthly condominium fees range from $535 to $1,200.

The homes have hardwood floors, an open gourmet kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows, and many include a private balcony or terrace with city views. Duball Woodmont LLC is developing Lionsgate, an upscale condominium community at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda at 7710 Woodmont Ave.

Lionsgate is one block from the Bethesda Metro and a Safeway store, and within walking distance of upscale shops and restaurants. The building has a doorman, valet parking, a 24-hour front desk, a fitness center and a clubroom.

Each home has hardwood floors, stone flooring in the baths, Viking stainless steel appliances and granite counters in the kitchen, and many include bay windows and balconies.

Foulger-Pratt Cos. are building luxurious condominiums at Park Potomac Place, a high-rise complex with upscale amenities at Interstate 270 and Montrose Road.

The community includes retail stores, urban-style brownstones, restaurants and mature trees in addition to the two high-rise towers.

The condominiums offer an elegant lobby with a 24-hour desk, a fitness center, a circular pool, a landscaped courtyard with a grill island, a clubroom with a wet bar, fireplace and catering kitchen, controlled-access parking, direct transit service to Metro and overnight guest suites.

Each of the homes includes upgraded appliances, granite countertops, an island or peninsula workstation in the kitchen, marble flooring in the master bath, high ceilings, full-size washer and dryer, prewiring for Internet service, and hardwood floors in the foyer, living room, dining room and kitchen.

The Patrinely Group is building 173 condominium homes in three towers at Trillium Bethesda in Bethesda, within walking distance of two Metro stations, restaurants, shops, art galleries and theaters.

The Trillium Bethesda has valet parking and concierge services, a party room with a bar and courtyard, a pool, spa services, a fitness facility, an artist workspace and storage units. Each level of these nine-story towers has been designed to accommodate 14 corner rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Silver Spring
