January weather leads most people to don comfy socks and cover up with blankets while dozing by the fire, but those with great imaginations may be dreaming of sunny skies, warm breezes, a yacht and a waterfront home.

Keswick Homes, the custom home division of Brookfield Homes Corp., has a 4-acre homesite with a luxury home available at Tilghman-on-Chesapeake, a resort community in Tilghman in Talbot County on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Located 25 miles from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge by boat and 65 miles by car, this community includes a yacht club with a boat dock, swimming pools, a clubhouse and tennis courts. Nearby are a golf course and multiple state and national parks and recreation areas. Residents can explore charming St. Michael’s and other nearby Eastern Shore towns for shopping, dining and entertainment.

A variety of home styles are available at Tilghman-on-Chesapeake, ranging in price from $749,990 to $1,149,990. Each has four to seven bedrooms, three to seven full baths and one or two half baths. The homes can function as vacation or retirement homes or for year-round family living.

The houses have brick fronts and sides with cement siding on the back, a side-entry three-car garage, professional landscaping, a slate front walk, a slate or brick front stoop and a mahogany front door.

Inside, each home has a formal foyer, a gas fireplace with a marble or granite surround, hardwood floors on the first floor, an oak staircase, 9- and 10-foot ceilings, French doors, crown and chair-rail moldings, columns, recessed lighting, a coffered ceiling in the master bedroom and high-tech wiring. Each kitchen has granite counters, a granite center island, raised-panel cabinets, a desk and upgraded appliances. The baths all have ceramic tile floors and Corian or granite vanity tops, and the master bath has a soaking tub and separate shower.

Buyers can add sunrooms, a first-floor bedroom, a third-level loft, a finished lower level, a media room, a wine cellar, an exercise room and a pool changing room with a steam shower and sauna.

The Devonshire model, priced from $969,990, features a two-story foyer that leads to a central staircase. Wide openings lead from the foyer into the formal living room and formal dining room. A home office or optional guest suite is privately located at one end of the home and features a hexagonal shape with four walls of windows. The office has a standard closet plus a nearby powder room, which can be converted to a full bath. A walk-in coat closet is nearby.

Perhaps the most dramatic room in the home is the generously sized, two-story gathering room, which has two walls of windows, built-in bookshelves and a fireplace. Adjacent to this room is a morning room with two walls of windows and a built-in desk. The open center-island kitchen is flanked by a walk-in pantry and a butler’s pantry. This level also has a mudroom/laundry room. Buyers can add a pavilion for outdoor entertaining, a sunroom and additional garages to this level.

Upstairs, the master suite features a corner with three walls of windows, two walk-in closets, a luxury bath and a private roof deck. A private master suite pavilion can be added (above the optional ground-level pavilion). The upper level includes a second bedroom with a private full bath and two additional bedrooms that share a connecting full bath. Buyers can opt to create two separate baths from this connecting bath.

A finished loft level can be added with a bedroom or open loft, a walk-in closet and a full bath. The lower level can be finished with a recreation room, a den, a wet bar, a wine cellar, a media room, an exercise room and a bath.
