Obama inauguration revelers poured onto the solid ice of the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall today.

The impromptu skaters were part of an estimated 2 million people — a record who squeezed onto the Mall to see Barack Obama sworn in. And despite the cold, the wait and crowds, there were few problems.

Many attendees brushed aside the negatives, and said a chance to see history in the making was worth it.
