ANALYSIS/OPINION:

I was looking forward to watching Caroline Kennedy navigate on the national stage. What a breath of fresh air her attractiveness and, yes, glamour would be - especially now. However, that’s hardly enough qualification to be the senator from New York.

I believe her reason for opting out was based on logic. She just isn’t up to the scrutiny or the tough world of politics. After putting her toe in the water, she must understand this. Mrs. Kennedy has lived in a plush cocoon in spite of the heartbreaks that have come her way. She is a moth attracted to the flame of national service, and I hope she seeks her calling elsewhere.
