SEEN AND HEARD AT MINUTE MAID PARK

HOUSTON — Though closer Mike MacDougal gave up Geoff Blum’s walk-off single in the ninth inning Friday after allowing a three-run homer to the Astros’ Lance Berkman on Thursday, Nationals manager Manny Acta said he was happy with the job MacDougal has done since taking the role. He has yet to blow a save in five chances.

“He’s been a little bit erratic, but overall he’s done a good job,” Acta said.
