How did you get started in real estate? I decided to join my wife’s real estate practice in order to help expand the services we could provide to clients and, at the same time, build a family business.

How long with the current company? Since 2008

Licenses and designations: Licensed in Maryland

Associations: Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors

Awards: Member, Top 1 Percent of Agents Team

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Professionally, I maintained a positive mind-set while assisting clients to navigate the complexities of buying and selling homes in the current market. Personally, having two of our sons graduate this spring - one from law school and the other from college.

Area of specialty: Our team has developed a reputation for selling properties other agents have been unable to sell, and we’ve been successful across the price spectrum. Our geographic focus is Montgomery County and upper Northwest.

Highest-priced home sold: $2,400,000

Most memorable house: After the house I grew up in, the homes I find most memorable are the ones where the owners have stories about their experiences in the house.

Worst experience buying or selling a house: The worst experience an agent can have is when you’ve done everything possible to sell a home and it still doesn’t sell. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s always very disappointing.

Age: 57

Family: Wife, Delia McCormick; three sons

Education: Bachelor’s degree in political science from Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y.; 1974

Community service/outside interests: Active in my church, birding and my son’s college football career (until his graduation)

Last book read:”A Little History of the World” by E.H. Gombrich

Last movie seen: “The Wrestler”

Describe your personal dream house: A small beach house, south of the Tulum ruins in Mexico
