BETHANY BEACH, Del. (AP) | A plan to build an offshore wind farm could mean bringing cables ashore at Bethany Beach.

Bluewater Wind intends to build a wind farm off the coast of Rehoboth Beach in the coming years. Officials say the effort would create green energy, more revenue and jobs for the area.

Bluewater also has told Bethany Beach officials that the project would mean bringing cables from the wind farm out of the water at the beach, under the boardwalk and along Garfield Parkway to Kent Avenue.

Bluewater representative Rob Probes said construction would be done in the off-season.

Councilwoman Margaret Young said feedback from residents about the plan has been mixed.
