Waxo Jaxo

Michael Jackson’s wax figure is visiting the District Thursday, compliments of Madame Tussauds. His likeness is being shipped here from the New York City location and will go on display in the window of 1025 F St. NW at 11 a.m. for those who wish to publicly mourn the passing of the King of Pop.

No word on whether he’ll be accompanied by a Republican first lady.

John Oliver, the Emmy-nominated writer and correspondent for “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” is coming to town to address the fifth annual Campus Progress National Conference Wednesday at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.

Former President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the gathering of 1,000 “young progressives,” which has become a central hub for organizing and networking in that demographic.

A native of Liverpool, England, and a Cambridge grad, Mr. Oliver joined the “The Daily Show” in 2006 and has racked up a bevy of award nominations and honors, including the Breakout Award at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo. In addition to his work on the show, he is a stand-up comic, and his special on Comedy Central, “Terrifying Times,” debuted in April 2008.

‘The Hills’ have eyes

Are conspiracy theorists the new Scientologists?

It seems more and more celebrities are jumping on the conspiracy-theory bandwagon. Reality-television stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Pratt of “The Hills” are the latest.

Earlier this week, the married couple joined conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his talk-radio show to discuss the New World Order Global Elite and other flights of fancy with the host, director of the documentaries “The Obama Deception” (Wall Street engineered the financial collapse in order to “repo the country,” and President Obama is a mere frontman for “the elite”) and “Info Wars” (the mass media is used to manipulate society).

“The truth feels crazy,” Mr. Pratt told Mr. Jones, “but the reality is, if you give them ‘The Obama Deception’ DVD and say, ‘How about we have this conversation after you watch the DVD?’ next thing you know, I have my friends twittering about ‘Info Wars.’ ”

Will teen queen Miley Cyrus be the next to drink the Kool-Aid?

“i dont understand what is @infowars ?” the Disney Channel sensation tweeted yesterday.
