A yacht club is an unexpected find in Falls Church, and so is a lovely lakeside home for just $429,000. At the Yacht Club of Sequoia, residents can enjoy living in a gated, secure community with landscaped gardens. Colonial-style town homes, like the one at 7571 Chrisland Cove, surround a wide lake with splashing fountains.

On one side of the lake are a community swimming pool and club, a great place for entertaining friends and family indoors in one of the clubrooms or outside on one of the decks overlooking the lake.

This end unit overlooks the lake from multiple windows. The three-level, brick-and-siding town home was built in 1984.

The home has been updated within the past 18 months with a new roof, new landscaping, an in-ground watering system, a new gas furnace, new central air conditioning, a new storm door to the deck and new ceramic tile floors in the foyer, hall and kitchen.

The kitchen has been updated with a new gas stove, a micro-convection oven and a refrigerator.

A few steps from the front door is a path that meanders around the lake. Landscaped garden beds wrap around the edges of this home.

The new buyer will also appreciate having a reserved parking space.

Just inside the front door, pale ceramic tile floors lead from the foyer to the hall and the kitchen. The recent updates in the kitchen make it a light-filled space with bright white cabinets and white appliances contrasted with black countertops. At the opposite end of the kitchen is a pass-through to the open living and dining area. There are tall pantry shelves in one corner and an extra row of cabinets above the pass-through.

Doors open off the foyer into a half bath, coat closet and utility closet, while steps lead down to the sunken living and dining room. The focal point for this space is a wood-burning fireplace flanked by two glass doors leading to a deck. Track lighting is overhead and a large picture window at the side of the home frames a lake view.

On the second level, the master suite extends upstairs to a loft. The master bedroom features a sliding glass door to a private deck that overlooks the lake. There is also a wood-burning fireplace flanked by two tall windows and a ceiling fan. This level also has a private full bath for the master and storage tucked under the stairs.

The loft is almost as large as the master bedroom with skylights, windows on the side of the room overlooking the lake and a deep dormer window. This level has recessed lighting and multiple closets.

On the bedroom level is a hall closet with a full-sized washer and dryer. The second bedroom has a double-door closet and a private full bath, along with a lake view from the back window.

This charming town home, with its wood-burning fireplaces, two decks and peaceful lake views, creates a private retreat. The home’s convenient location is minutes from the Beltway and right off Route 50. A shopping center with a grocery store and other shops and restaurants is less than mile from the community.
