Looking for free summer fun? Look no further as the 11th annual Chautauqua Tent Show, “America on Stage,” plays in downtown Lewes, Del., Sunday through June 25.

The tent show, which calls itself “a quintessentially American cultural experience,” promises to feature a mix of education and entertainment as re-enactors portray historic figures, including P.T. Barnum, Frederick Douglass, William Shakespeare and Annie Oakley. You, the audience, are encouraged to ask questions and interact with the historic characters.

Among other offerings are a performance by the U.S. Navy Commodores jazz ensemble on Tuesday, family crafts, clown shows and history talks.

Locations in Lewes for the tent show include the Zwaanendael Museum, Stango Park and the Lewes Historical Society.
