After weeks of speculation, several news outlets are reporting that Jon and Kate Gosselin, stars of the TLC reality hit “Jon & Kate Plus Eight,” will end their 10-year marriage.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the couple filed for divorce in Bucks County Pennsylvania Monday afternoon, the Web site People.com reported late Monday.

“Documents to initiate a legal split were filed in Pennsylvania,” where the family lives, on Monday afternoon, Reuters news agency reported, quoting an unnamed source “close to the situation.”

The move came just hours ahead of the show’s heavily-promoted hourlong Monday night episode, in which Kate Gosselin said, “Recently, we’ve made some life-changing decisions — decisions that will affect every member of our family.”

For months, tabloid claims of marital discord and infidelity involving both partners have remained in the headlines. Yet the show, seen Monday nights at 9, has remained a hit and attracted nearly 10 million viewers to its May 25 season premiere.

On Sunday, the New York Daily News reported that Jon Gosselin was spotted apartment-hunting in Manhattan in Trump Place on New York City’s Upper West Side.
