WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is seeking to reassure business leaders that he supports the free-market economic system.

Meeting with CEOs and other top leaders in Washington, Obama said the government has to intervene in private markets right now. But he pledged to listen to business leaders to help rebuild the nation’s struggling economy.

Obama says he wants government to “right the ship” and then “let private enterprise do its magic.”
