MARYVILLE, ILL. (AP) - Mourners are streaming into the southwestern Illinois church to say goodbye to a pastor gunned down there in the middle of his sermon.

The Rev. Fred Winters is being remembered at the First Baptist Church he led in Maryville.

The road leading to the church was packed with cars before the service, and the church parking lot was overflowing.

Prosecutors have accused Terry Sedlacek (SEHD’-lak) of killing Winters during the church service last Sunday as about 150 congregants watched in horror.

Sedlacek sustained knife wounds while being subdued by two church members. His attorney has entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf.
