WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities say Metro has stopped running trains at the McPherson Square station after a man was struck and killed by a train.

D.C. fire department spokesman Alan Etter says the man somehow came off the platform and was hit by a train about 1:15 p.m Friday. Etter says the man suffered traumatic injuries.

Metro officials say blue and orange line trains at the station are not running. Shuttle buses will be available between the Federal Triangle and Farragut West stations.
