MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man is back in Brazil visiting his 8-year-old son as the custody dispute over the boy grows.

Speaking from Rio de Janeiro, David Goldman told NBC’s “Today” show on Friday that the dispute is about a parent’s rights _ not about the diplomatic relationship between the U.S. and Brazil.

Still, the case has reached the highest levels of government. The U.S. House called on Brazil to “act with extreme urgency” to return the boy to his father. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called for his return. And the case may come up in talks at the White House Saturday between Brazil’s president and President Barack Obama.

Goldman’s wife took the boy to Brazil on a vacation and never returned. She divorced him, remarried and died last year.
