The following recall has been announced:

_ Golden Chocolate International Inc. is recalling its Brighton Beach Candy because the product might contain walnuts undeclared on its labeling. People who have an allergy to this ingredient run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product. Federal health authorities have received one illness complaint, according to the company.

The recalled product was distributed to retail stores, delis and restaurants in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio and California from December 2008 to date. The candy is individually foil wrapped and was distributed in 10-pound boxes. It does not have any lot codes, UPC code or expiration dates. For more information, consumers can call 718-330-1000.
