NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:


Barclays PLC, up 89 cents at $5.31

The British bank said it has had a good start to 2009 and confirmed it has been in talks about selling its asset management unit.

Illinois Tool Works Inc., down 91 cents at $26.94

The industrial products maker slashed its first-quarter earnings prediction on lower-than-expected global demand so far this year.

Landry’s Restaurants Inc., down 15 cents at $4.41

The restaurant, hotel and casino company said it swung to a profit in the fourth quarter, boosted by a gain from insurance proceeds.

Fortress Investment Group LLC, up 9 cents at $1.59

The alternative asset manager posted a bigger fourth-quarter loss on ongoing financial market turmoil, though it cut costs.


Century Casinos Inc., down 12 cents at $1.33

A stronger dollar and a pullback in consumer spending caused the casino operator to lose $651,000 in the fourth quarter.

Houston Wire & Cable Co., down 41 cents at $5.30

Quarterly profit fell by more than half, as sales declined on weaker demand, the specialty wire and cable distributor said.

Cypress Bioscience Inc., down 58 cents at $7.57

Revenue from collaborations fell and costs increased, pushing the drug developer to a quarterly loss from a year-ago profit.

AgFeed Industries Inc., up 66 cents at $1.74

The animal feed and pork producer said its full-year profit more than doubled due to a steep increase in its hog production capacity.
