PITTSBURGH (AP) - A Pennsylvania state trooper who killed an unarmed 12-year-old boy several years ago is now involved in the fatal shooting of another suspect.

State police spokesman Jack Lewis says Trooper Samuel Nassan III fired at 33-year-old Nicholas Haniotakis (han-yoh-TAY’-kis), of Pittsburgh. An autopsy shows he died of gunshot wounds.

Police say the suspect tried to back over officers with a vehicle early Sunday.

Allegheny County prosecutor Stephen Zappala is reviewing the shooting. Police aren’t saying who else might have shot the motorist.

Lewis says Nassan is on desk duty during the review. Nassan declined to comment Monday.

Pennsylvania settled a lawsuit with the 12-year-old’s family last year for $12.5 million.
