FORT MYERS, FLA. (AP) - David Ortiz and Jason Bay each hit a two-run homer to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 9-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
Josh Beckett pitched four innings in his fifth spring start for Boston. He allowed three runs and six hits, struck out three and walked one.
Alexi Casilla went 4-for-4 and stole two bases for Minnesota. Denard Span hit a solo drive off Jonathan Papelbon in the fifth.
The Red Sox hit four home runs. Jason Varitek had a solo shot in the second inning and Jacoby Ellsbury connected for a two-run drive in the fourth.
Twins starter Scott Baker allowed four runs and seven hits in three innings.
