PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Officials say one firefighter has “significant” injuries after two fire trucks collided in Philadelphia.

Executive Chief Daniel Williams says nine firefighters were taken to hospitals after a fire engine and a ladder truck collided late Thursday morning. The accident happened in a downtown residential neighborhood.

Williams says the injuries to eight firefighters are not life threatening. One firefighter has more significant injuries.

At least one firefighter had to be extracted from a truck. Williams says the cause of the crash is being investigated.
