Karen Widmayer joined Rockville-based Maier and Warner Public Relations LLC as a senior associate. Ms. Widmayer has served as marketing counselor to several Washington organizations, including CarrAmerica Realty Corp., Federal Capital Partners, the John Akridge Co., Grunley Construction Co. Inc., the J Street Cos. and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington Inc. She is a graduate of Virginia Intermont College of Bristol, Va., with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She obtained a master’s degree in economics from the University of Tennessee.

Chartese Burnett was promoted to vice president of communications and community relations for the Washington Nationals baseball team. Ms. Burnett served as vice president of communications for the team for four years. Before joining the Nationals, Ms. Burnett served five years as assistant vice president of communications for Players Inc., the licensing and marketing arm of the National Football League Players Association. She teaches courses in sports communications and public relations as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Ron Anderson joined Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. as director of surveys. He is a licensed land surveyor in Delaware and Maryland and comes to the Annapolis firm with more than 30 years of practical survey experience. In his new position, Mr. Anderson will oversee project delivery, quality control and financial performance.

The D.C. office of Skanska USA Building Inc. promoted Brennan McReynolds from director of business development to director of interiors and special projects. Mr. McReynolds graduated from the University of Evansville in Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and engineering management.

VT Aepco Inc. appointed Chris Taylor president of the Gaithersburg defense and support-services company. Before joining the company in July as executive vice president, Mr. Taylor worked for VT Services Inc. and VT Group PLC, British parent of the VT companies.

TECHNOLOGY

Traviss Green, a systems engineer for Bethesda-based Lockheed Martin Corp., was named a Modern-Day Technology Leader by Career Communications Group Inc., a Baltimore professional development company. He is a graduate of Bowie State University with a degree in computer science technology.

Marc Montagner was appointed executive vice president of strategy, development and distribution for SkyTerra Communications Inc., a Reston developer and supplier of mobile satellite communications services. Mr. Montagner was managing director of the global telecom, media and technology merger and acquisition group of Banc of America Securities LLC.

Lender Processing Services Inc. of Jacksonville, Fla., named Pete Maselli a senior vice president of strategy and business development. He will be based in Washington. Mr. Maselli, who was senior vice president of Land America Financial Group Inc. in Glen Allen, Va., holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the State University of New Jersey at New Brunswick.

REAL ESTATE

Ernst & Young Global Ltd. of Washington named Catherine Jones one of eight judges to select the recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Ms. Jones is senior vice president of the Washington office of UGL Equis Corp., a Chicago real estate firm. She is a graduate of Leadership Washington, a nonprofit mentoring organization.
