MESA, ARIZ. (AP) - Cubs manager Lou Piniella thinks there is still plenty of time to get pitcher Rich Harden enough work before spring training ends.

Harden was scratched from his scheduled start Friday against the San Diego Padres because he had a stomach bug.

Pinch-hitter Reed Johnson hit a two-run homer off Kevin Correia in the fourth inning and Chicago went on to beat the Padres 5-3.

Carlos Marmol and Kevin Gregg, the two competitors for the Cubs closer job, followed starter Mitch Atkins. Marmol pitched two perfect innings. Gregg worked 1 1-3 innings, giving up one hit and striking out three.
