TUCSON, ARIZ. (AP) - Playing in the same game with his younger brother, Chicago White Sox starter John Danks had his best outing of the spring.

Danks allowed three runs and six hits while striking out five in 5 2-3 innings of Chicago’s 9-6 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.

“Early on I was sharp, as sharp as I have been. It is really encouraging,” Danks said. “It has been frustrating so far in this camp not to be able to throw the ball where I want. To be sharp in the first three or four innings is great. I guess I ran out of gas.”

Danks allowed a two-run homer to Miguel Montero and a run-scoring single to Chris Young in the fifth before being taken out.

Jordan Danks, a 2008 seventh-round draft pick, was 0-for-2 and played center field.
