BLOOMINGTON, ILL. (AP) - Authorities in Illinois say bodies have been found matching the descriptions of two small boys and their father who had been missing about three weeks.

Nine-year-old Duncan Connolly and his 7-year-old brother Jack went missing March 8 after their father allegedly failed to return them to their mother following a custody visit.

The boys lived in the central Illinois town of LeRoy (luh-ROY’).

Authorities said Monday they canceled an Amber Alert after the bodies of two children were found Sunday in a car in a remote area.

The car was registered to Michael Connolly, who authorities described as a fugitive in a child abduction case. The body of a man matching his description was found about 60 feet from the car.

Autopsies were scheduled.
