Year started: 1988, Leslie; 2004, Paul

How they got started: Leslie started in real estate because her father said it would be a good idea. Paul started in real estate when he started remodeling old Victorian homes with his wife.

How long with the current company: 2 1/2 years (for both)

Licenses and designations: Both are licensed in Virginia. Leslie is also an e-Pro.

Associations: Both belong to the Dulles Area Association of Realtors

Awards: Leslie’s awards include salesperson of the month, top listing agent, top selling agent and fifth top producer; Paul’s awards include top listing agent, top selling agent and fifth top producer

Greatest accomplishment in the last 12 months: They sold over $5,000,000 … many with full price offers

Area of specialty: Foreclosures and short sales, also helping individuals reduce debt and raise credit scores

Highest price home sold: $1,500,000

Most memorable house: It was a foreclosure property in Herndon. The home needed to be cleaned and painted. The back door needed repair to keep intruders out. The home had a swimming pool that needed a lot of work. On the fifth day after it was listed, there were multiple contracts on the property. The bank agreed to a contract that was $25,000 higher than the list price. The home closed within a month of the listing date.

Worst experience buying or selling a home: Leslie and Paul recall how a bank-owned home in Lorton “lost the kitchen” after they opted to list it. They called the police and then the bank to report what happened. The bank said it wasn’t their problem. They called the company that originally put the kitchen in and were able to have the original kitchen drawn out to specifications. They reworded the listing to read, “Beautiful home in Lorton, pick your own kitchen cabinets and appliances.” They got a full price offer in less than two weeks.

Age: Leslie is 57, and Paul is 60.

Family: Leslie’s husband is Roderick, and they have two daughters, Caroline and Leigh, three boxer dogs and two cats; Paul’s wife is Mary Kay, and they have a dog, Maggie.

Community affiliations: Leslie is a Sunday school teacher, and Paul is a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America

Last movie seen: Leslie saw “Quantum of Solace,” (her husband loves James Bond); and Paul saw “Marley & Me.”

Dream home description: Leslie’s dream home would be on the beach of a quiet lagoon. The home would have a center room of about 40 by 40 feet with a rear veranda overlooking the lagoon. On one side of the home would be two bedrooms, with two more on the other side. It would have to be on three or more sand dune acres. The floor would be tile throughout.
