A primary appeal of Anne Arundel County is its proximity to both Baltimore and the Washington area. The county is about an equal distance from both and attracts commuters looking for a more relaxed lifestyle than a city offers.

Known for its waterfront, water-view and water-access communities, Anne Arundel County offers homes in all styles and price ranges. A good number of communities are situated on and around the Chesapeake Bay’s many tributaries.

Realtors say popular locations for people working in Baltimore include Severn, Odenton, Pasadena and Severna Park, while popular locations for D.C. commuters are Crofton, Annapolis and Davidsonville.

Annapolis, the state capital, has been voted one of the “best places to live” by several national magazines, all noting that it’s a great place to live, play, work and raise a family. With an impressive marina waterfront, fantastic seafood restaurants, historic sites and boutique shopping, the city is enjoyed by tourists and locals alike.
