ANALYSIS/OPINION:

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

President Obama is a person of faith, a Christian who deserves no criticism for not attending a National Prayer Day event (“Obama’s prayer snub brings reproach,” Nation, Friday). Is God not going to bless America just because its president was a no-show at a Prayer Day gathering? Is God really impressed by the words “In God We Trust” that grace our currency? Is National Prayer Day done for show to demonstrate how outwardly religious we are? Shouldn’t every day be a national prayer day for people of faith to observe?
