How did you get started in real estate? Through my early work experiences, I learned a lot about mortgage programs, how private- and public-owned properties are developed and managed, and the financial aspects of real estate investing. I worked at a national housing agency and traveled around the country reviewing the implementation of federal housing programs. I wanted to help people with families like my own, to find a way to live in the best house and community for them and their children, and to build wealth through real estate.

How long with the current company? Less than a year

Licenses: Licensed in Maryland and the District

Associations: Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors; Mike Ferry Real Estate Coaching Program

Awards: Top Producer Award for the past six years, top 100 Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. agents; top 1 percent of agents nationwide

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Helping sellers to see the market for what it is and to sell and preserve equity that they might have otherwise lost

Area of specialty: Selling homes other agents haven’t been able to sell. I work in all price ranges, generally in lower Montgomery County and upper Northwest Washington.

Highest-priced home sold: $2,990,000

Most memorable house: It’s the clients who make the transaction memorable for me. An elderly couple was grateful to have their home sold after trying with another agent for more than a year. At closing, the wife told me I was like an “angel” to them.

Worst experience buying or selling a house: My worst experience was when I was unable to communicate to a seller that he needed to change the price. He ended up with another agent who sold the home below what I could have sold the house for, had the seller and I been able to communicate better.

Age: 57

Family: My husband of 33 years, John Gregory, is also an agent and works with me in the business. We have three sons.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in urban affairs from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., 1974

Community affiliations/outside interests: Board member, Community Ministries of Rockville, which is a charity serving the homeless and elderly; Christ Church of Rockville; yoga classes; reading; coaching program for agents; “master mind” groups of agents who share ideas and inspiration so we can all operate at the highest level

Last book read: “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion” by Robert B. Cialdini

Last movie seen: “Taken”

What kind of car do you drive? Honda Accord

Describe your personal dream house: My personal dream house is the house I live in - when there is little left on the mortgage!
