ANALYSIS/OPINION:

I was stunned to read in Kenneth Tomlinson’s Op-Ed column, “If it looks like an ACORN …” (Opinion, Thursday), that Minority Leader John A. Boehner supports Dede Scozzafava for a congressional seat from New York. She is pro-card-check, pro-abortion and pro-gay-marriage, and she ran on the Working Families Party line of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Even more stunning was Rep. Peter A. Sessions, Texas Republican and chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, who said Mr. Boehner supports her because one day she would vote for Mr. Boehner for speaker of the House. There is a name for such men. Whatever happened to the Republican presidential campaign slogan “Country First”? Mr. Boehner is betraying principles for personal political gain. His betrayal is beyond disgusting.
