ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Some in the media say that the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to President Obama could widen the partisan divide and make it more difficult for him to accomplish his goals. Seriously? I don’t think the partisan divide can get any worse than it is already.

The president’s opponents already compare him to Hitler, accuse him of wanting to set up “death panels,” want him to fail and call him a socialist and other names. Meanwhile, the Republican Party is obstructing everything he wants to do. So now that Mr. Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize, things may get really ugly? Compared to what?

Consider how ridiculous all this is. In just one week, the Republicans have cheered America’s losing out on hosting the 2016 Olympics and jeered our president for receiving the highest international honor there is.
