I applaud your editorial “Fenty’s traffic camera jackpot” (Opinion, Sunday). It states the uncomfortable truth that “traffic cameras are about revenue and revenue only.” As a resident of Virginia, I do all in my power to avoid driving in the District. Despite the many fine restaurants in the District, we chose to celebrate my son’s birthday on Sunday night at a restaurant in Virginia. I hope the many small entrepreneurs in the District realize that Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s fixation on squeezing more revenue from motorists is coming out of their pockets in the form of lost business.
