ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) — Police investigating two child kidnappings in the 1980s are searching the Northern California home of a man charged with kidnapping a girl and holding her captive for 18 years.

Hayward police Lt. Christine Orrey tells The Oakland Tribune her department is looking for clues to the kidnapping of Michaela Garecht in 1988, including the clothes she was wearing when the then-9-year-old was snatched outside a supermarket.

The paper also reported Tuesday that Dublin police are looking for links to the kidnapping of 13-year-old Ilene Misheloff in 1989.

Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said police are looking through the property of Phillip Garrido and another site next door.

Garrido has pleaded not guilty to the 1991 kidnapping of Jaycee Dugard.
