ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Barely hours after leftist Democrats admonished Rep. Joe Wilson, South Carolina Republican, for calling President Obama a liar on the floor of Congress, Mr. Obama himself exonerated Mr. Wilson by proving, in another demonstration of arrogance, that Mr. Wilson had been correct in his assessment, if a bit off in his timing (“Obama ties immigration to health care battle,” Page 1, Sept. 18). Mr. Obama looked the American people in the eye and told a bald-faced lie, knowing full well that his presentation to Hispanic front organizations, which in effect represent foreign governments, would stand firm in rewarding 20 million criminals for their abuses against this country.

If Sen. John McCain, Arizona Republican, had been elected, we would be in the same situation. Mr. McCain, who turned his own state over to illegal immigrants, would be standing before these same organizations saying exactly the same words.

Mr. Obama has elevated Mr. Wilson at least to the Senate and maybe onto the Republican presidential ticket in 2012. Mr. Obama may continue to dance down that yellow brick road, but each day, fewer Americans are dancing with him.
