Thank you for Gabriella Boston’s upbeat and informative article about vegan eating (“Vegan options plentiful,” Culture, Wednesday). It’s true that finding meat-free fare is easier than ever, especially in the nation’s capital, which is home to more than two dozen all-vegan restaurants and hundreds of other eateries featuring vegan-friendly menus.

As a growing number of people opt for vegan cuisine - for their health, the planet and animals - it proves that leaving meat, eggs and dairy off our plates doesn’t mean skimping on flavor. It simply means choosing the cruelty-free versions of our favorite foods.
