The time certainly has come for leaders and religious organizations to come together and move forward with a proposed constitutional amendment on the right of all Americans to pray (“America doesn’t have a prayer,” Web, Editorial, April 16).

I truly think such an amendment would end, once and for all, the incredible nonsense built around the so-called wall-of-separation doctrine. All the Founders wisely proscribed was the establishment of a particular denomination. At no time was it their intention to erase spiritual manifestation from our public life; they well knew that it is ingrained in the nature of humans.
