Some people dream of a cottage in the woods or by the sea, a secluded, private place where they can escape for vacations and long weekends. Others prefer to spend their vacations surrounded by an array of activities they can enjoy with guests, family and friends.

Vacationers who want to participate in community events, play tennis and have a choice of swimming pools should consider purchasing a home at Bay Forest in Ocean View, Del. This year-round planned community provides a spectacular setting for vacations and for residents who are retired or enjoy the luxury of working from home. Set on Indian River Bay, Bay Forest features a lake and causeway at the entrance that leads into 400 acres of woodland, open space and meadows.

Bay Forest eventually will have 800 homes nestled into separate neighborhoods defined by open spaces and landscaping. Pedestrian paths link the neighborhoods and lead to community amenities, which include a clubhouse, swimming pools, tennis courts, a beach shuttle and a planned private canoe-and-kayak marina. Residents are minutes away from the delights of nearby beaches, including Fenwick Island, Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach and Dewey Beach, plus fishing, boating, swimming, sunbathing and shopping in the beach towns.
