I just finished watching the first part of the series “The Story of Us” on the History Channel and was very disappointed. The program seems to be the latest attempt by an Obama-supporting Hollywood to feed us all a false history of the American people in order to further the cause of disarming American citizens.

In the program, Revolutionary War-era Americans are shown as having to be taught how to care for rifles and how to aim and shoot them in order to form militias to fight the British. The aim seems to be to convince Americans that the only reason the Continental Congress gave Americans the right to bear arms was so they could be of service in militias.

Americans didn’t have to be taught how to care for or aim rifles; they had been using rifles and pistols for generations in order to put food on their tables. Guns were as common a tool to Americans as saws, hammers, spinning wheels and cooking pots.

If the anti-gun proponents can’t re-educate us in our schools, they’ll stoop to doing it on the History Channel, which we expect to be a trusted, unbiased channel.
