LAUREL, Md. (AP) — Howard County police are investigating two shootings moments apart that have injured four people in Laurel.

Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Schroen said the shootings occurred just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. Officers found two people shot in the 9100 block of Hitching Post Lane. One of the victims is in critical condition, and the other is in serious condition.

About a mile away, Ms. Schroen said, police found two other people with gunshot wounds at a mobile home park on Alma Avenue. Both of them are in serious condition.

Ms. Schroen said police are working to determine if the shootings are connected.
