ANALYSIS/OPINION:

President Obama says he wants to help middle-class America. That’s a good idea. Let’s start by abolishing federal income taxes on the first $100,000 per year for individuals and the first $200,000 for married couples.

That would put more money in people’s pockets to pay the rent and mortgage and for food, clothing, medical bills, health insurance and other essential living expenses.

It’s only fair. For decades, federal and state income tax laws have allowed banks, corporations and businesses to subtract their essential expenses while denying that right to individuals.
