While some Washingtonians focus on the night life, shops and restaurants in Georgetown, out-of-town visitors often are equally enticed by the historic homes in this Northwest Washington neighborhood.

Often deceptively narrow from the front, some of these homes have hidden gardens and extensive living space with plenty of privacy and room for entertaining.

One of Georgetown’s oldest homes, one section of which dates back to a 1790 farmhouse, is on the market for $2,195,000. The three-story, semidetached Federal-style brick home was renovated in 2001.
