President Obama’s education plan is no better than his health care plan. His Race to the Top Fund, which is supposed to provide grants to reward states that are creating the conditions for education reform, will cost taxpayers $1.35 billion. The government would be better off investing in Powerball tickets.

The judges will be appointed by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and choosing the winners will be subjective. I bet very few red states will get a grant.
