Police in Virginia have searched the Arlington apartment of Washington Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton, looking for a silver- or chrome-colored semiautomatic handgun.

Arlington police conducted the search Thursday morning, and court records indicate that nothing was seized.

Crittenton has been excused by the team from practices and games while authorities investigate an incident that occurred in the Wizards locker room on Dec. 21. Wizards three-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas has said he took unloaded guns out of his locker in a “misguided effort to play a joke” on a teammate.

Crittenton’s lawyer, Peter White, declined to comment on the search.
