RICHMOND — Former state legislator Terrie Suit is among three new appointees to Virginia Gov.-elect Robert F. McDonnell’s Cabinet.

Mr. McDonnell introduced Ms. Suit as assistant to the governor for commonwealth preparedness on Wednesday. Ms. Suit, like Mr. McDonnell, formerly represented Virginia Beach in the House of Delegates. Mr. McDonnell said she has been an advocate for the military and veterans.

Mr. McDonnell also named Jim Duffey as secretary of technology and Doug Domenech as secretary of natural resources. Mr. Duffey worked for Electronic Data Systems Corp. for 24 years, andMr. Domenech has held a number of positions in the U.S. Department of Interior.
