DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA (AP) - Spain has controlled the opening 30 minutes of the World Cup semifinal against Germany on Wednesday, but the score is 0-0.

David Villa’s close-range shot was blocked by Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the sixth minute. Villa received a pass from Pedro and tried to squeeze a shot between Neuer’s legs.

Carles Puyol headed over the crossbar off Andres Iniesta’s cross in the 13th, and Sergio Ramos shot off target in the 19th.

The match was briefly interrupted in the fourth minute when a spectator carrying a vuvuzela ran onto the pitch and was briskly escorted out of the stadium by security guards.

Germany has failed to create a single chance as Spain dominates possession.

The winner will play the Netherlands in Sunday’s World Cup final.
