K. Hovnanian Homes is building 175 single-family homes on quarter-acre homesites at Sun Meadow in Walkersville, a community with tot lots, walking paths and parks with pavilions.

Sun Meadow residents live 10 minutes from downtown Frederick, and a shuttle connects the community with the MARC train station.

Each home in this Frederick County community will include low-maintenance vinyl siding, professional landscaping, a sodded lawn, an asphalt driveway and a two-car garage.

Inside, all six models feature four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, hardwood flooring in the foyer and powder room, 9-foot ceilings on the main level, crown and chair-rail moldings, 42-inch raised-panel oak cabinets in the kitchen, a full unfinished basement with a rough-in for a lower-level bath, and gas heat.

The homes have 1,989 to 2,687 finished square feet, with base prices from $292,990 to $374,990. Homeowner association fees are $250 annually.

The Hancock III model, with 2,400 square feet, is priced from $314,990. This home features a front porch and a two-story foyer with a coat closet and a powder room as well as stairs to the upper and lower levels.

The main level has a formal living room, a formal dining room and an open center-island kitchen with an adjacent breakfast area and family room.

Upstairs, the master suite has two walk-in closets and a private full bath with a double-sink vanity, a linen closet and a shower. Buyers can add a luxury bath with a soaking tub and separate shower.

Three more bedrooms, a second full bath, a linen closet and a laundry room complete this level.

Options include finished lower levels, morning rooms, room extensions, bay windows and tray ceilings.
