WASHINGTON | Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer has won in California, all but dashing any chance for Republicans to take over the Senate.

Boxer beat Republican Carly Fiorina for a fourth term in a hard-fought contest.

Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania took away a fifth Democratic Senate seat for Republicans. But the GOP needed to win all five uncalled races to take control of the Senate. Toomey beat Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak,
