ASHBURN, Va. | With Brett Favre ailing, London Fletcher has a chance to move to the top of the list for consecutive games played.

The Washington Redskins middle linebacker will play in his 200th straight game Sunday. If Favre doesn’t play, Fletcher will take over first place among active non-specialists — one game ahead of both Peyton Manning and Ronde Barber.

Fletcher has never missed a game in his 13-year NFL career, and he says it’s harder to play week after week as a linebacker than as a quarterback. He attributes his streak to “great genes” and “a fair amount of toughness.”

The Redskins visit the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
