WASHINGTON (AP) — Police bomb experts are responding to a report of a suspicious package in northeast Washington.

Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Istmania Bonilla said the bomb squad has been called to the 1100 block of North Capitol Street. She said the report of the package came in about 10:40 a.m.

It comes a day after officials responded to another suspicious package at a Washington mail facility. That call turned out to be a false alarm.

Three packages mailed to government officials ignited in Washington and Maryland last week, slightly burning the fingers of two state mail employees. An FBI terrorism task force is investigating the packages and authorities have no suspects.
